 My Artwork
« Thread Started on Jun 7, 2005, 1:59pm »

Considering that there doesn't appear to be a regular art forum for displaying a person's images, except perhaps the PhotoHut, I thought it would be better to showcase my most recent workings here:

Devil-Karin

The first picture is of one of the main characters for my manga, a teenage succubus by the name of Karin. Normally she's a rather sweet girl, yet at times she can transform and unleash her hellish fury when provoked. I drew her in this nude form because I desired to develop the different body types that each of my characters possesed...I failed. Karin's waist is far too skinny, as are her hips and thighs, making her appear so thin as to see almost brittle. Her left shoulder is positioned too far to the left, looking as though it were dislocated almost, her hair was drawn before her wings, thus why her right wing is poking through the hair. And of course having no room for her feet wasn't a good idea, but she is a pretty tall girl. Her legs could've been positioned better, and her face isn't very symmetrical, but that's something I've always had trouble with. Otherwise it turned out pretty well, even if coloured in MS Paint.

The second picture is of another character, a bisexual vampire, although I haven't fully decided to include her in the manga or make one of her own. She turned out far better, even with lack of a proper background, and the only real beef I have with it is that her body appears a little too thick, especially in the case of her bust which came out far bigger than it it's supposed to be. More recent pictures of Denise have her with a lean, muscular body.

The final picture was one done on request for a member of the LotR Fanatics Plaza. By using a very beautiful photo of her, I was able to make a rather decent picture of Inzilbêth that she thoroughly enjoyed, and has even asked me to run a future art thread for Mordor. Yipee!

I'm currently working on a group shot of my girls Karin, Ariel, and Denise. The latter two are dressed as Galadriel and Éowyn as they are role-playing LotR. Karin, however, is slightly confused and thus is dressed as the Dark Magician Girl. DMG's outfit proved more difficult than I thought, yet atleast this time around Karin has a bit more meat on her bones.

My hosting service is the Picture Poster at Allbrand.nu, and once in awhile they go offline so nothing shows up. However I check the site regularly and my bandwidth usage is pretty small since I mostly display small pictures like avatars, icons, and frameart. My artwork's about the biggest thing I've got there.

Anyway, it's showing up for me at the moment.

Alrighty then... so I've got some new artwork. Well, actually I've had some of these around for months, but it's new to you!

The first batch is of Denise, again. As much as I love Karin, the idea of putting her into a comic didn't pan out so well; Denise has since been a deeper, richer character and so for the last few months I've been developing a comic rotating around her and "human vampires", vampires that aren't supernatural undead but are, instead, just descended from a race of humans that through mutations and necessary survivals and other weird-ass stuff have begun drinking blood (like any other blood drinking animals). There are no more pure-blooded Homo lamia left, so Denise and those like her are half-breeds (well, more like 99%/1% breeds), dubed so far as Homo sapien lamia.

The first picture in this piece has been my favourite so far, despite perhaps baring too much of a resemblance to Street Fighter's Cammy. For one thing, it's probably the best drawn, and she doesn't appear as her usual, angry self. The second picture shows off Denise's strong side; ever since the beginning I've imagined her as a fighter, or atleast visiting a gym several times a week. Although I like the term "Killer Queen", she's really just a broad, the type of gal who can appear beautiful and elegant while drinking hard liquor and punching out guys twice her size. The next picture kind of follows on that. Denise has no military experience, this was just something I did while in Basic Military Training. Her face could've been better but her Battle Dress Uniform came out excellent. The next three black & whites are the most recent. First is Denise enjoying a smoke and some wine, then another portrait (not sure if I'll keep the fancy cross or go with a more plain one), and the third is based on her appearance in the PS2 game, Soul Calibur III (hurray for character creation!), which in turn was based on the picture in my first post. However it is now severely outdated. When I first started drawing this, Denise was a Barbarian so I generally used Iron Sword/Soul of Nightmare with her (she's wielding Soul Edge (Phantom)). Now she's a Thief who fights with a Sickle and wears the sleeveless China Dress instead of the sleeved Floral China Dress (of course in this pic her's is based on the original qípáo I drew). Couldn't draw the sandles very well, though, so I ignored them. I've also finalized the Kanji on her shoulders; on her right is kon "soul" and on her left is chi "blood". I may be mistaken with the actual words kon and chi but the Kanji should be correct.

The next character I'm showcasing is Morgan Powers, a Welsh vampire that was originally designed to be Denise's antagonist, but now is more like the whole "friendly rival" thing (ala Sonic & Knuckles, Kyo Kusanagi & Iori Yagami, etc). She lives alone taking care of her younger brother & sister, Gavan and Rhoslyn, respectfully, who are both twins, but she has a grandfather named Griffith Morcant who's the head of an old Welsh clan.

I first drew her the morning I entered the base while I was at the airport, dressing her in this leathery, S&M, Rocky Horror Picture Show-type thing. The second time I drew her (the first picture shown), it was during my final week there, and she was wearing clothes similiar to what a trainee wore on his final day. Something still gothy but now much simpler, and she's basically kept that look, even when I created her in SCIII, too. Although in SCIII I use her to test out new clothes for girls, so besides being goth she's also been a French maid (ironic, no?) a pirate (Captain Morgan!), and a sorceress (which I now use for a character named Quintessa).

Then, of course, there's more pictures of Karin, yea! The first I drew while on the planeride over to BMT and hastily added a tanktop just so I didn't come into the military with a picture of a naked girl! The second was also done on a planeride, but I think that was finished before hand; it's a t-shirt idea (should say "American", not "America"), but I'm going to redraw it. The third is an older picture, before Denise had gone her seperate ways. I had wanted to draw my trio in their night clothes; Karin in a simple nightshirt, Ariel in a small t-shirt and cotton panties, and Denise in silk bra & panties. I never drew Ariel or Denise and probably won't, and the cosplay picture I mentioned last year is still on hiatus. With my focus on Denise's new comic I've been completely seperating her from Karin & Ariel. The last picture is another nude, trying to understand her bodytype. Really didn't turn out right; the nightshirt pic before is better, since her breasts look nicer and she appears a bit stouter. I want Karin to be buxom, and not just big-breasted buxom, I mean buxom in it's true definition; large breasts (with a slight sag), wide hips, big thighs, full stomach, chubby cheeks, maybe even a bit of a double chin. A nice, full-bodied woman!

Everything looks on A+ form, as usual. Am I right in thinking several of those drawings have a Vampiric element to them?

I especially love the Apple Pie-holding Woman. And the Dragon-uniformed, weapon wielding Woman.

Yeah, if you remember way back in high school the pie holding woman, Karin, was the girl I had on the cover of my notebook that pissed off the principal a bit. Bah, can't believe it's been so long since I last updated.
